This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of literary criticism, its place and functions within the system of literary studies. It also explores the essence of criticism based on the views of writers and critics such as Abdullah Qodiriy, Ozod Sharafiddinov, and Abdullah Qahhor. The development of criticism from the Jadid movement period to the modern era is examined, along with the problems and tasks of criticism in the context of globalization and informatization. The article also reveals both the positive and negative aspects of the popularization of contemporary literary criticism.
