NON-FICTION AS A TYPE OF VERBAL-ARTISTIC CREATIVITY: THE SPECIFICITY OF THE DOCUMENTARY PRINCIPLE IN MODERN LITERATURE

The article examines non-fiction literature as a specific type of verbal-artistic creativity formed at the intersection of literature and journalism. The study aims to identify the distinctive features of works with a dominant documentary basis in modern Russian, Uzbek, and Belarusian prose. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between fact and artistic interpretation, as well as to the role of the authorial “self” and documentary imagery as key principles of text organization. Based on the works of A. Solzhenitsyn, S. Alexievich, and N. Karimov, the mechanisms of transforming documentary material into an artistic structure are revealed. The study concludes that non-fiction represents an independent direction of modern literature with its own poetics and typological characteristics.
