THE REPRESENTATION OF THE AZERBAIJANI LANGUAGE IN THE TURKOLOGICAL SPACE: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TURKEY AND UZBEKISTAN

The article examines the representation of the Azerbaijani language in the Turkological space through a comparative analysis of the cases of Turkey and Uzbekistan. Within a sociolinguistic framework, it is shown that language functions not only as a means of communication but also as an element of social, cultural, and institutional identity. In the Turkish model, Azerbaijani is primarily characterized by an active communicative and academic function, whereas in the Uzbek context it exists within a cultural-historical and interpretative dimension. The findings reveal that the Azerbaijani language holds a multilayered functional status in the broader Turkological environment, shaped by historical, cultural, and social factors.
