Abstract

This article analyzes the discursive features of dialogic speech in English from linguistic and pragmatic perspectives. The study examines the communicative nature of dialogic speech, its structure, the linguistic means expressing interaction between participants, and the factors that shape discourse. It also considers such features of English dialogues as turn-taking, exchange of
utterances, question-answer relations, discourse markers, presupposition, implicature, and the role of context through descriptive and comparative analysis. The article substantiates the functional and semantic features of dialogic speech in live communication, its role in achieving communicative goals, and its pragmatic effectiveness. The findings of the study contribute to a deeper understanding of dialogic discourse in English, the analysis of spoken communication, and
the enrichment of scholarly views in discourse analysis and pragmalinguistics.
