Abstract

This article analyzes the problem of the lack of development of communication skills in
children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) from a scientific, theoretical and practical perspective. The article highlights the essence of the concept of communication, its communicative, interactive and perceptual components, and reveals the features of the violation of these components in children with ASD. The peculiarities of verbal and nonverbal communication, difficulties in social and visual communication are analyzed, and the main problems in communication are identified. Also, the ways of developing communication skills, early diagnosis, the importance of individual and group correctional and pedagogical work are substantiated.
