EARLY VIEWS ON THE NOUN AS A PART OF SPEECH

The issue of classifying words into parts of speech has long remained one of the most relevant problems in world linguistics and is considered a priority for the grammar of all languages. This issue has been investigated both theoretically and practically on the basis of implicit and explicit approaches. Within these approaches, views on the noun as a part of speech are of particular importance. The study of noun words in Uzbek linguistics has gone through certain historical stages of development, and numerous scholarly works have been conducted in this area. This article highlights the earliest views on the noun as a part of speech, the process of their formation, and their place in linguistics.
