Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the semantic content and communicative functions of lexical units used in English-language BBC News texts, including neologisms, terminological units, phraseological expressions, and abbreviations. Through semantic analysis, the research reveals the layers of meaning and connotative features of lexical items, while communicative analysis highlights their functional role in delivering information in a concise and persuasive manner within news discourse.
