THE COMMUNICATIVE QUALITY OF SPEECH CORRECTNESS AND FORMATIVE NORMS

This article discusses correctness of speech as one of the fundamental principles of speech culture and the factors that shape it. Relying on linguistic theories, the author presents her views within the framework of ten norms that ensure speech correctness: lexical, orthoepic, phonetic, graphic, accentological, grammatical (morphological and syntactic), word-formation, stylistic, orthographic, and punctuation norms.
