This study explores the theoretical foundations of digital communication, online discourse, and internet genres, focusing on their conceptual definitions and functional boundaries from a linguistic perspective. The rapid development of information and communication technologies has created a new communicative environment characterized by multimodality and interactivity. Digital communication is defined as computer-mediated interaction that encompasses both synchronous and asynchronous forms of exchange across various platforms. Online discourse is examined as a complex set of texts and communicative practices shaped by socio-cultural and pragmatic factors within virtual environments. The paper analyzes the structural and functional features of internet genres such as chats, posts, comments, blogs, and forums, highlighting their communicative purposes and linguistic characteristics. The findings demonstrate that genre boundaries in digital space are dynamic and context-dependent, reflecting the ongoing transformation of language in technologically mediated communication.
