THE IMPACT OF URBANIZATION AND MODERNIZATION PROCESSES ON EVERYDAY LIFE IN THE CITIES OF KARAKALPAKSTAN (1960–1980S)

The article comprehensively analyzes the impact of urbanization and modernization processes on everyday life in the cities of Karakalpakstan during the 1960–1970s. The introduction emphasizes urbanization and modernization as significant social, demographic, and economic factors shaping urban development and the daily lives of the population. The research methodology is based on demographic data, archival documents, statistical indicators, and analysis of urban infrastructure. The results reveal that cities primarily functioned to meet the needs of the rural population, and that the process of urbanization was closely connected with migration, natural population growth, and climatic conditions. The discussion and conclusion sections extensively examine the influence of these processes on everyday life, social relations, and urban infrastructure, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects of urbanization and modernization in the urban and social environment of Karakalpakstan.
