LINGUISTIC FEATURES OF THE WORD FORMATION PROCESS THROUGH COMPOUNDING IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE

This article examines the linguistic features of the word formation process through
compounding in the German language. The study focuses on the structural, semantic, and
functional characteristics of compound words. Compounding is one of the most productive word
formation processes in German and plays a significant role in the creation of new lexical units.
The paper analyzes the main types of compound words, their grammatical structure, and their
usage in speech. Special attention is given to the role of compounding in the development of
modern German vocabulary and its importance in the linguistic system.
