THE ESSAY AS A SYNTHESIS OF LITERARY CREATION AND PUBLICISM (ON THE EXAMPLE OF UZBEK LITERATURE)

This article analyzes the history of formation, stages of development, and theoretical foundations of the essay genre in Uzbek literary criticism and literary review. The artistic (imagery, lyricism) and publicistic (social relevance) features of the essay genre, as well as its synthetic nature, are highlighted. The active development of the essay genre resulting from the growing need for personal freedom and national identity during the period of independence, and its unique manifestation in the works of writers such as Ibrohim G'ofurov, are revealed.
