A COMPARISON OF INTERROGATIVE PRONOUNS AND QUESTION PARTICLES IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH

This article analyzes the grammatical features of interrogative pronouns and interrogative particles in the Uzbek language and compares them with their equivalents in the English language. The study examines Uzbek interrogative pronouns such as “kim”, “nima”, “qachon”, “qayer”, “nega”, and “qanday”, as well as interrogative particles like “-mi”, “-chi”, and “-a”. It also highlights the similarities and differences between these forms and English interrogative words such as “who”, “what”, “when”, “where”, “why”, and “how”. The results of the study reveal both common and distinctive features in the structure, usage, and meaning of interrogative constructions in the two languages.
