Ushbu maqolada ingliz va o‘zbek tillari badiiy hamda kinodiskursida intonatsion konturlarning emotsional-ekspressiv qatlami qiyosiy-kontrastiv tahlil qilingan. Tadqiqotda kinoya, kesatiq va sarkazm kabi nutqiy aktlarning reallashuvida prosodik vositalar — ohang yo‘nalishi, mantiqiy urg‘u, emfatik pauza va cho‘ziqlikning pragmatik funksiyalari o‘rganilgan. Ikki til materiallari asosida ingliz tilidagi kinoya ko‘proq ohangni bosish va vazminlik (deadpan) tamoyiliga tayanishi, o‘zbek tilida esa aksincha, ohang diapazonining kengayishi, modal yuklamalar hamda nafaqat unlilar, balki undosh tovushlarning ham emfatik cho‘zilishi (geminatsiyasi) orqali ifodalanishi isbotlangan. Olingan natijalar qiyosiy tilshunoslik va fonopragmatika sohalari uchun muhim ilmiy ahamiyatga ega.
