Abstract

In literary criticism, to analyze irony, the reasons that give rise to it are first studied. These reasons depend on factors such as society, time, and human lifestyle, culture, and space. Because literature talks about man and the world around him, social lifestyle, and the means and goals that cause him to live. It tells about the consequences of these goals and reasons. For this reason, in order to describe a person not only as a living being but also as a person, the lifestyle and environment in which he lives must be taken into account. The theoretical views and examples in this article are presented as evidence to explain that irony in a literary text is a multi-stage communicative phenomenon that occurs not only through the author's style, but also through the reader's level of understanding.
