ANALYSIS OF CARL JUNG’S CONCEPTIONS OF THE UNCONSCIOUS

This article analyzes the concept of the unconscious nature of the human psyche in the teachings of Carl Jung. His worldview was profoundly influenced by the ideas of major Western philosophers, including Plato, Plotinus, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Nietzsche, Henri Bergson, and Sigmund Freud. Under their influence, Jung developed a new psychological discipline – analytical psychology – which represents a synthesis of psychology, philosophy, religion, and mythology. The article examines five types of archetypes, provides their general characteristics, and highlights their differences. In addition, it explores certain views of Jung’s students and followers.
