Abstract

This article explores syntactic and stylistic devices that play a significant role in literary discourse, focusing on their types and patterns of use in poetic texts. The study examines the functional and aesthetic roles of inversion, repetition, ellipsis, parallelism, rhetorical questions, and word order in the poetics of the ghazal, drawing on the works of both classical and contemporary poets. It identifies specific ghazals in which these devices are employed and demonstrates, through illustrative examples, how they enhance artistic impact. Each syntactic-stylistic device is analyzed through concrete ghazal samples, with attention to its semantic and emotional load. The findings highlight the importance of syntactic-stylistic devices in ghazal poetics and their contribution to shaping a poet’s individual style.
