The article examines speech culture as a systemic category of modern linguistic and pedagogical knowledge. The main normative and communicative aspects of speech culture are analyzed, including orthoepic, accentological, and lexical norms of the modern Russian literary language. Special attention is paid to the role of speech culture in professional and academic communication, as well as to the formation of communicative competence among students of non-linguistic and philological fields of study.
