THE ESSENCE AND STUDY OF VERBS EXPRESSING DESTRUCTION

The article examines the essence and specific features of studying verbs expressing destruction as an integral part of the lexical-semantic field. It analyzes the main research directions of the category of destructiveness in Russian, Bashkir, German, and Uzbek linguistics, highlighting issues of semantics, valency, functional-stylistic characteristics, and the cognitive interpretation of destructive verbs. Particular attention is paid to systemic and functional-semantic approaches to their classification, as well as to the problem of the core and periphery within the semantic field. The necessity of further comprehensive research on destructive verbs is emphasized, taking into account their metaphorical, discursive, and pragmatic potential.
