LINGUISTIC COLOUR-BASED IDIOMATIC WORLDVIEW IN RUSSIAN

The article analyzes phraseological units of the modern Russian language that contain color-denoting components. The research material includes 242 fixed expressions selected from phraseological dictionaries using the method of continuous sampling. The quantitative and semantic analysis revealed that the core of the linguo-color idiomatic worldview is formed by the components black, white, red, golden, and green. The main thematic groups reflecting culturally determined perceptions of a person, society, nature, and historical experience are identified.
