Abstract

This article analyzes the works of poets who lived and created within the literary environment of Bukhara during the second half of the nineteenth and the early twentieth centuries. In particular, the ideological and artistic features of the works by Mullo Abdumajid Muztarib, Abdulloboqiykhoja Nozim (Bebok), Shamsiddin Muhammad Shohin, Muhammad Siddiq Hayrat, and Sadriddin Ayni are examined. Their literary heritage reflects themes of love lyrics, social injustice, separation, loneliness, and the imperfections of the era. The study substantiates, on a scholarly basis, that the literary environment of Bukhara constituted an important stage in the development of Uzbek and Tajik literature.
