Abstract

This article examines the essence and content of nonverbal communication, its main components, and its significance in the pedagogical process. Nonverbal communication is considered a form of communication without words, and the role of such means as facial expressions, gestures, body language, eye movements, vocal intonation, spatial distance, and appearance is analyzed in information transmission. The article substantiates that nonverbal signals are an important means of expressing a person’s emotions, mood, attitude, and intentions, and in some cases they have a stronger impact than verbal messages. It also highlights the dependence of nonverbal communication on cultural context, that is, the different interpretation of the same gestures and movements in different societies. From a pedagogical perspective, nonverbal communication between teachers and students is evaluated as an important factor in managing classroom atmosphere, attracting students’ attention, recognizing signals of interest and resistance, and increasing lesson effectiveness. It is emphasized that conscious and purposeful use of nonverbal means strengthens the teacher’s communicative competence and pedagogical mastery. As a result, scientific and practical conclusions are drawn about the need for in-depth study and implementation of nonverbal communication in educational practice.
