This article examines the phenomenon of lies as an expression of the violation of cooperation principles in scientific communication from philosophical, logical, and communicative perspectives. It explores the essence of lying and the forms of its manifestation in scientific discussion and argumentative interaction. Based on P. Grice’s cooperative principle and communicative maxims, the study reveals the negative impact of lies on the quality, quantity, relevance, and manner of information delivery. The article also substantiates effective methods for detecting and exposing lies in scientific debate, including factual analysis, logical analysis, Socratic questioning, identification of manipulative rhetoric, as well as psychological and technological verification tools. The findings are important for developing a culture of scientific communication and for ensuring fairness, credibility, and effectiveness in scholarly discussion.
