Abstract

This article examines the theoretical foundations of nonverbal communication and its main types (facial expressions, gestures, proxemics, tactile communication, and paralinguistic elements), as well as the functional and stylistic features of emojis, stickers, and GIFs in digital discourse. The study reveals that traditional nonverbal means are biologically and psychologically grounded, whereas emojis represent technological and symbolic constructs. The role of intercultural differences in interpreting nonverbal signals is also discussed.
