LINGUISTIC AND PHILOSOPHICAL INTERPRETATION OF THE CONCEPT OF “SINCERITY / SAMIMIYLIK”
Keywords:
conceptual modeling; sincerity condition; speech acts; politeness; linguoculturology; cognitive semantics; English–Uzbek contrastive pragmatics.Abstract
This article provides interdisciplinary interpretation of the concept pair sincerity/samimiylik by integrating cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, and pragmalinguistics. Building on concept theory, it treats sincerity as a structured mental formation with a nominative field organized around a core and graded peripheries, including an axiological (evaluative) layer. Philosophically, it traces sincerity as a norm of truthful alignment between inner states and outward avowals, and situates modern shifts toward authenticity within genealogical discussions of truthfulness and selfhood.
