Abstract

This article examines the mahallas of Samarkand city on the basis of archival materials. It highlights in detail Abramov’s study of Samarkand and the classification of mahallas according to their specific characteristics. The article also provides information about the culture of the population, customs and traditions, as well as the socio-economic life of the city.
