ETHNIC IMPACT OF DASHT-I KIPCHAK NOMADS ON THE ZARAFSHAN VALLEY

This article analyzes, based on scholarly sources, the migration of nomadic tribes from the Dasht-i Kipchak region into the Zarafshan valley and its impact on the ethnic composition of the area. Particular attention is given to migration processes of the 13th–16th centuries, during which Kipchaks, Kungrats, Naimans, Karluks, and other Turkic tribes integrated into the local population, leading to significant ethnic transformations. The study also provides a comparative analysis of data from Arabic, Persian, and Russian Orientalist sources.
