This article systematically presents the theoretical, methodological, and practical foundations for developing students’ self-directed learning competencies in a digital educational environment. The study clarifies the essence, structure, and developmental stages of this competence. It also analyzes the potential of digital technologies in organizing learning environments and proposes mechanisms for individualization, self-regulation, and reflective learning. The proposed pedagogical model is substantiated through the interrelation of its components, and its effectiveness is validated through experimental studies. The findings contribute to identifying effective mechanisms for fostering self-directed learning in digital contexts.
