HAFIZ TANISH BUKHARI AND THE HISTORICAL AND SCIENTIFIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE WORK "ABDULLA-NOMA"

The article examines the life and scholarly activity of Hafiz Tanish Bukhari, as well as the historical and source-based significance of his well-known work “Abdullanoma” (“Sharafnama-i Shahi”). The main objective is to analyze the political and spiritual environment that influenced his formation and to explore the political, socio-economic, and cultural processes of the Shaybanid period, particularly during the reign of Abdullah Khan II. The study employs historical, comparative-analytical, source-critical, and chronological methods. The text is analyzed in comparison with modern historiographical research and the views of local and foreign scholars. The findings confirm that “Abdullanoma” is a significant and reliable source for studying 16th-century Mawarannahr, containing systematic information on governance, foreign policy, social structure, and cultural life of the Bukhara Khanate. In conclusion, although the author followed the traditions of court historiography, the work holds substantial scholarly value when examined critically.
