Abstract

This article examines ways to enhance the methodological preparation of teachers in higher education for effective foreign language instruction. The study focuses on learner-centered practices, interactive classroom activities, and techniques that promote active participation and meaningful language use. Special attention is given to the role of professional competence, lesson organization, assessment strategies, and feedback in developing students’ speaking and thinking skills. The findings indicate that the use of modern educational technologies and interaction-oriented teaching practices significantly increases student motivation and engagement. The article emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development and methodological innovation in improving the overall quality of language education in universities.
