A GENDER APPROACH TO THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS AS A FACTOR IN IMPROVING EDUCATION QUALITY

Abstract

This article examines the scientific and pedagogical foundations for stimulating learners’ individuality by taking gender characteristics into account, with particular attention to cognitive mechanisms and the activity of thinking systems, attention, and memory. The principles of a gender approach and the concept of a gender stereotype are specified. The main purpose of the study is to explore how considering schoolchildren’s gender characteristics influences the quality of education in organizing the educational process. The research includes a theoretical analysis of psychological, pedagogical, and neuroscientific sources, as well as national and international studies in cognitive pedagogy, and employs the method of pedagogical observation. The organization of educational activities based on a gender approach—i.e., taking into account learners’ gender, psychological, and age-related characteristics—contributes to the development of students’ individuality, maximizes learning outcomes, and supports the раскрытие of their abilities. The findings indicate that applying a gender approach to the educational process promotes the active development of students’ individuality, improves the assimilation of learning materials, enhances the realization of learners’ abilities, and ultimately increases the quality of education.
