THE LINGUOCULTURAL NATURE OF EVALUATION AND THE FORMATION OF NATIONAL EVALUATIONS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

Abstract

The article examines the linguocultural nature of the category of evaluation and analyzes the factors influencing the formation of national evaluative systems in the English and Uzbek languages. The study of evaluative meanings from a linguocultural perspective makes it possible to reveal how universal human values are expressed through language, as well as to identify nationally specific and ethnically distinctive evaluative strategies and conceptual oppositions characteristic of each linguistic culture. The distinction between evaluation and axiological evaluation is clarified, while linguoculturemes are interpreted as units reflecting national mentality and value systems. Based on lexical, phraseological, paremiological, and textual units in English and Uzbek, the influence of historical development, religious sources, social traditions, and cultural heritage on evaluative systems is demonstrated.
