THE PSYCHOLOGICAL NATURE OF PROCRASTINATION AND ITS SCIENTIFIC INTERPRETATIONS

This article examines the psychological nature of procrastination and its main scientific interpretations. Procrastination is viewed as a complex psychological phenomenon closely related to motivational, cognitive, emotional, and volitional characteristics of an individual. The study analyzes the types of procrastination, the factors contributing to its development, and its manifestations in students’ academic activities. An empirical study conducted with 53 students at the University of Innovative Technologies revealed a predominance of moderate and high levels of procrastination. The findings highlight the importance of developing integrated psychological and pedagogical strategies aimed at reducing procrastination and improving students’ academic effectiveness and psychological well-being.
