This article examines, on the basis of a comparative analysis of foreign and local experience, the issue of forming 4C competencies — critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration — in teaching physics in higher education, as well as their implementation in educational practice. It analyzes the relationship between 4C competencies and the content and methodology of teaching physics in higher education, the approaches used in advanced education systems, and the existing opportunities in local practice. The study also substantiates the methodological possibilities for developing these competencies through lectures, practical and laboratory classes, problem solving, project-based activities, group work, the STEAM approach, and digital technologies.
