This article covers the pedagogical and methodological foundations of developing students' thinking in mathematics lessons. Effective methods and tools for forming logical, analytical, independent and creative thinking in the process of mathematical education are analyzed. Also, issues of increasing students' cognitive activity through the use of problem situations, question-answer, comparison, generalization, conclusion, didactic games and practical tasks are considered. The article reveals the importance of interactive methods that serve to develop thinking in mathematics lessons, and justifies their role in improving the quality of education and the intellectual potential of students.
