Abstract

This article examines the theoretical foundations of the category of qualitativeness in the English and Uzbek languages as well as the level of its investigation in linguistic studies. The research focuses on the place of this category within the language system and analyzes its semantic, morphological, and syntactic characteristics.

The study also explores the ways in which qualitative meanings are expressed in English and Uzbek and provides a comparative analysis of their similarities and differences. Linguistic examples are used to illustrate the structural and semantic features of qualitative expressions in both languages. Furthermore, the article reviews the historical development of research on the category of qualitativeness and summarizes the theoretical approaches proposed by various scholars in the field of linguistics. The findings of the study contribute to a deeper understanding of the linguistic nature of the category of qualitativeness and its functional role within the language system. The results may serve as a theoretical basis for further research in comparative and typological linguistics, particularly in studies focusing on semantic and grammatical categories across different languages.
