QUEENS AS A SYMBOL OF ENLIGHTENMENT IN HISTORICAL WORKS

This article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the interpretation of Timurid queens, particularly Gavharshodbegim and Khonzodabegim, in the genre of historical novels in Uzbek literature. The study examines works such as Pirimqul Qodirov’s “Farewell of the Falcon” (later republished as “Shohruh and Gavharshod”), Odil Yoqubov’s “Ulugbek’s Treasure,” Maqsud Shaykhzoda’s “The Tragedy of Mirzo Ulugbek,” and Shahodat Isakhanova’s “Gavharshodbegim.” The findings indicate that the same historical figures can be portrayed differently—even in contradictory ways—by different authors, highlighting the issue of objectivity and authorial methodology in historical fiction. The article also discusses the potential of the novel genre in representing reality from both Western and Eastern literary perspectives.
