Abstract

This article analyzes the lexical manifestation of the phenomenon of presupposition in the Uzbek language and its pragmatic-semantic features. It highlights the factors of the emergence of presupposition in the speech process, in particular, the context, the speech situation and the connection with the general knowledge of the participants of the speech. Also, the features of expressing hidden meaning layers based on the internal semantic capabilities of lexical units are substantiated using examples. The article also examines the relationship between presupposition and syntactic structure, its interaction with the proposition, and the formation of language based on the principle of economy. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the possibilities of expressing presupposition through lexical units in the Uzbek language are wide, and their study based on a pragmatic approach is of great scientific importance.
