Abstract

This article is devoted to the issue of ensuring equivalence in the translation of internet neologisms. The study analyzes the semantic, pragmatic, and functional features of newly emerging lexical units in modern digital communication and identifies the main strategies used in their translation. In particular, the effectiveness of transliteration, calque, descriptive translation, and functional equivalence is examined based on examples of internet neologisms. The results show that context, communicative purpose, and target audience play a crucial role in achieving adequate translation. The paper also substantiates the need for an integrated approach to ensure both adequacy and equivalence when translating internet-related lexical innovations.
