MODERN METHODOLOGIES FOR TEACHING THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ COMMUNICATION SKILLS

The article analyzes the primary linguistic, didactic, and psychological approaches that form the theoretical foundation of modern non-native language teaching methodology. Structural, lexical, and sociocultural approaches are considered, identifying their didactic opportunities and limitations in the context of forming speech skills. Particular attention is paid to student-centered, deductive, and inductive approaches, as well as cognitive learning strategies. The central place is occupied by the communicative-activity approach, which is oriented toward the formation of students' communicative competence.
