Keywords:

This article examines the artistic interpretation of intertextuality in the poetry of William Blake and Mahmud Shabistari. The study outlines the theoretical foundations of intertextuality and analyzes biblical, mythological, and literary allusions in Mahmud Shabistari’s “Gulshani Raz” and William Blake’s “Songs of Innocence and Experience.” The article explores the artistic and philosophical functions of intertextuality, as well as its role in the creation of imagery and the enrichment of ideological content. The findings of the study demonstrate that intertextual elements in Blake’s works enhance the aesthetic layer of the text, while in Shabistari’s poetry they enable the reader to perceive philosophical and ethical meanings more deeply. Thus, the article contributes to intertextual studies in Eastern and Western literary criticism and poetic analysis.
