Abstract

Corpus-based analysis of war-related themes in world literature increases the verifiability of literary interpretations by combining philological reading with frequency-based, collocational, and discursive parameters. The article compares corpus markers of war as event, experience, and memory, shows how the lexico-semantic environment of key units changes across genres and epochs, and proposes a scheme of comparative reading grounded in frequency lists and observations of contexts in digitized corpora. The empirical basis comprises the tools of the Russian National Corpus (frequency dictionaries, “word portrait,” metadata markup, sketches, and collocations) and open corpus datasets from OpenCorpora, as well as texts from Wikisource, which make it possible to demonstrate reproducible examples.
