Abstract

This article analyzes modern methodological approaches to organizing visual arts lessons in primary education using a scientific review method. The study highlights the role of art education in the modern educational paradigm and its impact on creative thinking, aesthetic taste, emotional-intellectual development, and interdisciplinary integration. In particular, the article explains the essence of approaches such as competency-based learning, learner-centered approach, integrated learning, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, digital pedagogy, and formative assessment. Special attention is paid to lesson design appropriate to the age and psychological characteristics of primary school students, methodological tools, assessment criteria, and teacher competencies. The analysis shows that modern methodological approaches transform visual arts lessons from reproductive activity into creative, reflective, and communicative processes, thereby expanding students’ aesthetic perception, artistic thinking, and opportunities for personal expression.
